I've got a runn-in with this product when I was searching a new eMail provider which you can configure to use POP3 or IMAP. I know that these features are already present in GMail, and I currently have one. But I just like to search some new products hence I surfed the internet and stumbled upon www.inbox.com. It's a decent product but still GMail surpasses it. So I just contented myself on surfing into their other products.
That was when I saw this nifty toole that acts like Outlook Notes. I've been using Outlook Notes for a while now (I'm an outlook dependent you know) and let's say that I'm not a big fan of their Notes implementation. I mean each note has a button in the taskbar, and say that you are a busy man and have 30+ notes, then your desktop (especially your taskbar) would not be a good thing to look at. This is what prompted me to use Desktop Notes.
Well, what really is a desktop note? Easy. Just imagine a 3m post-its as a software. I really need this tool since I'm fond of having all information displayed to me at my desktop. It really is handy if your quite busy and your memory is quite low.
The feature that blew me on Desktop Notes is its interface, it's transparent. And the next cool thing would be its systray docking. I mean, the main controller of your Notes would just be in the systray oppose to the Outlook Notes which primarily sits on your task bar.
I really would recommend you readers out there to use this product. The best of all is that its free. Though it doesn't contain extra features like note sending (in which I haven't used before) and a proper Notes management GUI. But since I don't currently need any of that feature I was more attracted to Desktop Notes. I guess it's the time now to share this with you. It has helped me remember important things. I guesss I really have a thing on post-its.
